Book Week Scotland begins this Monday the 16th November. What book will you be reading? Perhaps it’s also worth asking, What book will you be reading to your child?
Reading books to your children is so important for their early language development, but also provides a wonderful moment to sit, cuddle and share a story and create a memory. This next week gives us all an opportunity to grab a book, sit down and spend time reading with our family.
The theme for this years book week is ‘future’.
Check out book Week Scotland website for plenty of ideas and activities to celebrate reading and embrace this years theme.
Resources include space stories, gravity experiments, murder mysteries and much much more.
2020 has been a very different year. Lockdown has seen many families and homes display works of art and symbols of hope in their Windows. This week would be another great opportunity to place something in your window. Why not encourage your children to display their favourite books and maybe inspire other families to read.
In our home, we have begun a reading tree to show each other the books we have read and review whether we would recommend it to others. Currently, our seven year old is out reading us all!!
Let’s make book Week a time to encourage a love of reading.
